But behind it was a romance filled with fame, scandal, heartbreak, and tragedy.<\/p>\n<h2>Tom Jones and His Affairs<\/h2>\n<p>At the height of his career in the 1960s and \u201970s, Tom Jones was known as a major heartthrob and openly admitted to having numerous affairs. The pair soon became romantically involved. Their relationship became public after they were photographed kissing on a beach in Barbados in 1974.<\/p>\n<p>The scandal contributed to Wallace losing her Miss World title. At the time, she was also reportedly engaged to racing driver Peter Revson.<\/p>\n<p>Tragedy struck when Revson died in a crash during practice for the 1974 South African Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<h2>A Painful Ending<\/h2>\n<p>Jones eventually ended his affair with Wallace, fearing the relationship would damage his marriage. Heartbroken, Wallace later overdosed on sleeping pills and was hospitalized. She survived and insisted it was not a suicide attempt.<\/p>\n<p>Jones was reportedly deeply affected by the news and sent flowers while she recovered.<\/p>\n<p>Wallace later continued her career in television and entertainment, eventually marrying and raising a family.<\/p>\n<p>Despite their complicated past, she and Jones remained friends.
