She remembered him as a man who lived a \u201cfull and happy life\u201d and was deeply loved by many.<\/p>\n<p>Born August 30, 1941, in Tarboro, North Carolina, Jones studied radio, television and film at the University of North Carolina before beginning his acting career. He appeared in films including <em>Smokey and the Bandit<\/em> and <em>The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars &amp; Motor Kings<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>But his most memorable role came as Cooter Davenport on <em>The Dukes of Hazzard<\/em>. Jones appeared in 141 episodes from 1979 to 1985, becoming a beloved figure among fans.<\/p>\n<p>Jones later entered politics and was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1989, serving two terms.<\/p>\n<p>He remained closely connected to <em>The Dukes of Hazzard<\/em> throughout his later years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ben Jones leaves behind a lasting legacy in both entertainment and public service. He will be deeply missed.
