Markie Post refused to let the disease control her life – she fought bravely until her last breath

Markie Post: Remembering the Beloved TV Star

Markie Post was a beloved television actress best known for her role as public defender Christine Sullivan on Night Court. With her warmth, talent, and elegance, she became one of the most recognizable stars of 1980s television.

Born in 1950, Post began her career behind the scenes on game shows before moving into acting. She later appeared in shows including The Fall Guy, Cheers, and Chicago P.D., while also earning a memorable role in There’s Something About Mary.

Away from Hollywood, Post was married to writer Michael A. Ross for 39 years, and they raised two daughters, Kate and Daisy.

Post died on August 7, 2021, at age 70, following a four-year battle with cancer. Despite undergoing chemotherapy, she continued working and living as normally as possible.

Her family remembered her not only as a talented actress but as a kind, loving, and generous person. Markie Post left behind a lasting legacy on television and in the hearts of the many people who admired her.
