Little-known mistakes and bloopers in Dukes of Hazzard

The Dukes of Hazzard became a TV classic with its wild car chases, colorful characters, and the famous General Lee. But the show also had plenty of surprising behind-the-scenes stories and funny mistakes.

John Schneider was only 18 when he auditioned for Bo Duke, but reportedly claimed he was 24. Catherine Bach’s famous shorts also caused controversy at first, though they later became so iconic that denim cutoffs are still called “Daisy Dukes.”

Fans have spotted small bloopers too, including Rosco accidentally calling Daisy “Cathy” and driving scenes where Bo and Luke appear to switch places.

The General Lee had its own unusual history. Its famous horn was reportedly discovered by accident, and hundreds of Dodge Chargers were used during filming.

Even decades later, these mistakes and behind-the-scenes stories remain part of what makes The Dukes of Hazzard so memorable.
