Bunny Levine spent 25 years as a school librarian before finally pursuing the acting dream she had carried since childhood.
The beloved character actress, known for roles in Gilmore Girls, Everybody Loves Raymond, Law & Order, Ugly Betty, La La Land and many other shows, died peacefully in her sleep at her California home on August 20 at age 97.
Born in 1928, Levine retired from education in 1985 and began acting at nearly 60. She went on to build a decades-long career, continuing to audition and work well into her 90s, including an appearance in Thelma in 2024.
She also co-founded Actors Connection in 1991, helping aspiring performers pursue their own careers.
Levine leaves behind three children and two grandchildren.
Her extraordinary life proved that it’s never too late to follow your dream.
